During the period of Shanghai's lock up, in the month or so when ordinary residents could not go out of their homes, a part of the population at the edge of the city still “live” on the streets. Some of them were street people who had been sleeping on the streets for a long time, construction workers, security guards, nannies and other migrant workers who had lost their jobs due to the epidemic, as well as couriers and delivery boys who insisted on going to work. Providing assistance and shelter for these people became the main task of the staff of the rescue station in Yangpu District during the period of closure and control.
