On the afternoon of May 6, multiple residential committees in Shanghai issued notices stating that, in order to implement the measures for the "Zero-COVID Campaign," a silent period would begin from May 7 to May 10, during which all deliveries would be refused. However, shortly after these notices were issued, several committees announced that the implementation of the silent period policy had been temporarily postponed.
At the press conference on May 7, the Shanghai authorities announced that this year’s unified college entrance examination (gaokao) would be postponed to July 7–9, and the high school entrance examination (zhongkao) would be postponed to July 11–12.
