According to the timeline released by the patient’s daughter, at 8:00 a.m., her father suffered an asthma attack and collapsed. Two doctors who were conducting COVID tests in the community arrived at the scene to perform CPR and informed the family that an AED was needed.
At 8:45 a.m., an ambulance arrived downstairs — but it was called by a neighbor. They asked to borrow an AED, but the request was denied.
The daughter and neighbors repeatedly tried to communicate whether it would be possible to use a private car or get assistance from the police to transport her father to the hospital. However, due to the lockdown in the residential compound, none of these options succeeded.
At 9:18 a.m., the local police station delivered an AED.
At 9:29 a.m., a second ambulance arrived.
At 10:00 a.m., the ambulance staff carried an empty stretcher downstairs.
The elderly man had passed away.
