On June 29, Shanghai orderly reopened dine-in services. On the same day, the Shanghai Catering and Culinary Industry Association released the third edition of the Guidelines for Resumption of Business and Market in the Catering Industry, which mentioned: the encouragement of implementing the table leader system.
The table leader system refers to recommending one representative among the diners at the same table, commonly known as the "table leader." The main responsibilities include: reasonably ordering dishes, supervising diners to sit with spacing, ensuring the use of serving chopsticks and spoons during the meal, managing dining time during the pandemic, taking responsibility for packing leftover food after the meal, and reminding guests to wear masks after leaving the table.
